Kiwassa Neighbourhood House

Kiwassa Neighbourhood House provides a broad range of free or low cost social services and programs to children, youth, adults, seniors and families in East Vancouver. Kiwassa's Domestic Violence Worker provides domestic violence counselling, referrals, and information about different forms of abuse and their impact on children; outreach to families; and accompaniment to criminal justice systems (police, lawyers and courts). In the area of Employment Law, Kiwassa provides information about employment standards and workers' compensation in Spanish and English.

In the area of Residential Tenancy Law, Kiwassa is part of BC Housing and runs two housing units comprising of 56 apartments. Some are subsidized while others are market-based. Kiwassa also runs three units designed for handicapped people. Workers provide one-on-one support, outreach to other services, and referrals to BC Housing or other services in Kiwassa.
