Vancouver Provincial Small Claims, Family & Youth Court Services
Walk-in hours for Court Registry and other court services are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. Duty Counsel lawyers offer assistance to individuals who have been charged with a crime and do not have a lawyer or qualify for legal aid. They may see drop-in clients who do not have court that particular day, but only if there is time left during the day. It is funded by LSS and serves Burnaby and Vancouver.
Family Duty Counsel lawyers provide assistance 8:30am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday regarding Family Law issues and child protection issues (where MCFD is involved); drop-in service for people who do not have a lawyer and do not qualify for legal aid. The Native Youth and Family Advocate program provides crisis counselling, referrals, intervention, and advocacy with MCFD.
