VAST was incorporated as a BC non-profit agency in 1986. They assist refugees and immigrants who have experienced torture, trauma and/or political violence to heal and settle in Canada. They achieve this through counselling and specialized settlement services. VAST provides trauma counselling to survivors of Domestic Violence and works closely with the Ministry of Children and Family Development to re-unite families once an apprehension (children) has occurred. They also offer anger management counselling and couples work as well.
