Family Services of the North Shore

Family Services of the North Shore offers individual, couple, and family counselling, parent education programs, and family drop-in centers for people who live or work on the North Shore. They offer several counselling programs for domestic violence including Stopping the Violence, which provides free individual and group counselling for women aged 19 and older who have experienced relationship abuse (domestic violence), sexual assault, and/or physical, emotional or sexual abuse in childhood. Counsellors all hold master's degrees and are registered with various professional organizations. They also have the Parenting in the Midst of Violence Program, which offers support to families where there is or has been domestic violence. Individual and group counselling for men who are abusive in their relationships is also available. On top of these programs, they provide Clinical Counselling for a broad range of issues for men, women, couples and families. People pay between $20-$100 per 50 minute session, based on their household income. Other programs include the Child & Adolescent Sexual Abuse Program, Family Preservation Program and Family Support Programs.
