Courthouse Libraries BC

Courthouse Libraries BC provides legal information services to the legal community and the public of BC. Programs for the public include: Clicklaw: a website featuring legal information and education for the public in British Columbia which links to legal resources produced by dozens of organizations in BC, including many multi-lingual resources (www.clicklaw.bc.ca); HelpMap: a search tool to find someone in your community who can help with legal problems, including services in many languages (www.clicklaw.bc.ca/helpmap); and LawMatters (http://bclawmatters.blogspot.com/), a program that helps public libraries provide current legal information including BC Toll-Free Referral Phone Numbers, A Brief Guide to Finding Court Documents, Separation and Divorce in BC Research Guide Template, Legal Information Reading Guides, and Multilingual Legal Information Titles.

Legal librarians at the Courthouse Libraries can assist with legal information questions, legal research and provide free access to legal databases. Services are available in-person or through the Courthouse Libraries toll-free number. Customized training is offered on request for intermediaries on using Clicklaw (including the HelpMap) either in person or via webinar by contacting editor@clicklaw.bc.ca. Tours of the library can also be organized (http://www.courthouselibrary.ca/library/ToursandTraining.aspx).
