Lawyer Referral Service
First, there is the Lawyer Referral Service, which refers a caller to a practicing lawyer for family or domestic violence related issues. If the lawyer is available, he/she will provide up to 30 minutes of consultation for $25 plus taxes. After the consultation, the fees to be charged are strictly between the lawyer and the client. The lawyer is not obliged to accept the applicant's case and the applicant is under no obligation to retain the lawyer. Available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Dial-A-Law
The other program offered is Dial-A-Law, which offers 26 family scripts prepared by lawyers, covering various issues in Family Law e.g. Family Violence (script 155), Child Support (117) and Spousal Support (123), Dividing up Family Assets (124), Family Court (110), etc. The scripts are available online and by telephone. Recordings are available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Punjabi (partial). Toll free: 1.800.565.5297
